Hi! My name is Valeria Fantozzi and I'm double majoring in Architectural Studies and Development Studies. This summer, I will be doing my thesis research about earthquake reconstruction in Chincha, Peru, a rural area located about three hours away from the capital city. I will be focusing on the materials and methods of construction and their relation to the socioeconomic background of the people living in the area. I am very interested in earth architecture, so I will also be talking to experts on the subject. In the fall of 2013, I will be coming back to Brown to write my research about this topic.
