My Dang

I am a rising senior pursuing an ScB. in Human Biology with a focus on Global Health. After spending my childhood in a small German town, I finally left home to go to an international school in Wales for 2 years, and then somehow ended up in Providence, Rhode Island. It was at Brown that first I met and befriended other second-generation Vietnamese immigrants. As a Royce Fellow this summer, I will be investigating public and personal knowledge of the Vietnam War in both North and South Vietnam. I hope to understand how this knowledge shapes various perceptions of Vietnamese identity at home and abroad. On a personal level, I am also excited to learn more about my own family’s history.

Aside from asking questions about cultural identity, I also like to kick things with Brown Taekwondo in my free time. After graduation, I plan on attending medical school in Germany.
