We are very pleased to announce that the video entry "Our Time Has Come" by the Endless Abilities team of Zachary Bastian, Harvey Burrell, Tripp Clemens, and Will Humphrey, has been selected as winners of the #HOWCOOLISTHAT video contest. The video contest asked participants to make their case for why mainstream media should increase coverage of athletes with disabilities and disability sports. The submission by the Endless Abilities team highlights the theme and powerful message: "Our Time Has Come." We received excellent video submissions, and we are very appreciative to all of the participants and also express our gratitude to the time and expertise of the review panel.
The aim of the #HOWCOOLISTHAT campaign has been to increase awareness about how disability sport is a part of mainstream sport and mainstream culture. The campaign has encouraged the general public to share their feelings, thoughts and reactions on social media using #HOWCOOLISTHAT. For this we have been showing and sharing highlights of disability sports posting videos, pictures and stories. We hope that the #HOWCOOLISTHAT campaign will open the dialogue and debate around the coverage of international championships, national competitions and other disability sports events by mainstream media.
